On December 11, the exhibition entitled “Monastery of Madre de Deus – The Foundation” will be inaugurated. The exhibition will take place at the National Tile Museum, in Lisbon, and will be open to the public until 31 December 2021.

The exhibition aims to develop hypotheses about the virtual reconstruction of the foundational nucleus of the old monastery and its development to the present. The hypotheses presented are the result of scientific research developed by IPTI based on available historical documents and the support of a multidisciplinary set of specialists in the fields of Art History, Engineering and Architecture.

Using digital technologies, the exhibition builds a narrative with strong didactic value, supported by virtual and physical models; it aims to captivate the younger audience to understand this landmark of the Portuguese history.
